It isn't His job to make sure I'm always comfortable -in fact, it's His job to make sure I'm NOT comfortable, to see how I can handle life when it gets difficult. <br /><br />I love that line too, and I think it is a great lesson in parenting. I can't protect my children all their lives from pain or grief. Nor should I try to keep them comfortable their entire lives. But I have a few years to be their teacher of HOW to handle life when it gets difficult, which means I'm going to have to let them hurt sometimes in order to help them cope. I had the same questions and got a similar answer. When I think of the why's...I turn to the story of the Trouble Pile. If you haven't read it...Google it. <br /><br />I will keep my lot, because it's changing me into who Heavenly Father knows I can be.
